Galina and Ben had a beautiful House for an art lover wedding a few weeks ago. I always enjoy photographing here—not only because it’s a stunning venue with incredible architectural details, but also because it’s a local wedding venue for me, and it’s always a pleasure to return.
The day began in Glasgow city centre with the bridal preparations alongside Galina and her bridesmaids. After capturing those moments, I made my way to the House for an Art Lover, located on the south side of Glasgow. For those unfamiliar with this venue, it’s a masterpiece inspired by a 1901 Art Nouveau house design by renowned architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his wife, Margaret MacDonald. The house, built between 1989 and 1996, is nestled in Bellahouston Park, just east of where the Festival Tower once stood during the 1938 Empire Exhibition.
When I arrived, Ben and his groomsmen were ready, so we took advantage of the good weather for some outdoor photos. As we were heading back inside, Galina arrived earlier than expected—clearly eager to get the day started! 🙂

The ceremony was beautifully led by John Paul Fitzpatrick from the Humanist Society Scotland, who brought a perfect mix of warmth and fun to the occasion. A meaningful handfasting ritual took place, symbolizing the couple’s union, and Galina and Ben shared a special moment as they both drank from the Quaich, a traditional Scottish cup, representing their bond and unity.
With the sun still shining, everyone made their way outside after the ceremony. Instead of the traditional confetti throw, guests were given bubbles to blow as Galina and Ben walked through—a fantastic photo opportunity. After they mingled with friends and family, we captured some group shots with the stunning House for an Art Lover as a backdrop.

We also had access to the gorgeous flower-filled garden, where we strolled around and took some relaxed, fun photos of the newlyweds. As is often the case with Scottish weather, the skies soon turned, so we went back inside for some canapés and drinks. The guests were then ushered into the Music Room, where speeches and dinner were set to take place, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere for the rest of the evening.

The Music Room at the House for an Art Lover is a stunning space, bringing to life Mackintosh’s visionary design through intricate details. The room’s large windows offer picturesque views of the surrounding park, enhancing its timeless elegance and making it a truly unique setting for Galina and Ben’s wedding.

After the dinner and speeches concluded, it was time to leave the Music Room and prepare for the evening reception downstairs. Before the dancing began, I couldn’t resist taking advantage of the stunning rooms at the House for an Art Lover. I captured a few more portraits of Galina and Ben, making the most of the incredible interiors before the festivities continued into the night.

The Jiggers, the lively Scottish ceilidh band, were all set up and ready to kick off the party. Before the dancing began, Galina and Ben had their cake-cutting ceremony, and from that moment on, the night was filled with energetic ceilidh dancing. Guests were up on their feet, jigging away to traditional Scottish tunes—a perfect way to end an unforgettable wedding day for Galina and Ben.
