John was one of the best parts of our wedding day, as well as being a helpful resource during our wedding planning process and bringing us photos we will cherish for a lifetime! His documentary photography style, paired with his many years of experience, led to a treasure trove of photos that captured the emotion of the day and who we are as a couple.
He has immense range, making any of Scotland’s many types of weather into breathtaking, cinematic photos. We were delighted to find that even in the bright sunshine—a bride’s dream and photographer’s nightmare—he was able to plan the day in a way which gave us the best of the lighting, including a short hilltop shoot during golden hour and an adventurous rocky beach sunset. We were reticent about leaving our guests for long, but he was both quick and fun, gifting us with some moments away from the crowd to let the beauty of the day sink in.
John, our friends and family will be poring over this anthology of photos for years to come. Many have told me they are the best photos they’ve seen of themselves, which I believe is because you captured their genuine joy throughout the day rather than having them pose for endless staged photos. We wanted our wedding to be a place where everyone felt warmly welcomed and completely included; where our American and Scottish guests found connections across cultures. Your pictures captured this warmth and whimsy, crystallizing such perfect moments in our memories. Thank you for not only being AMAZING at what you do, but being a kind person too.

We are so pleased we had John as photographer for our wedding, the photos are incredible! He was so easy to communicate with in the run up and brilliant on the day, put us at ease being so friendly and easy to get on with, bonus of being happy to work with the dog and horse which of course had to be included! We are so pleased with all our photos with a fantastic mix of candid and relaxed photos with family and friends, the only difficulty is how to choose which to put on the wall!

We found John via social media and swiftly made contact as his style of work suited the intimate, outdoor wedding we were planning.
Johns communication was helpful and responsive, we met via video call which was ideal, got a flavour of each other’s ideas and to be honest he was so helpful and flexible to our needs. We were looking for something laid back and ‘go with the flow’ and that’s exactly what he delivered.
He kept in contact in the run up to our wedding day and on the day we couldn’t have asked for things to go any better. He was there but in a non intrusive way, he captured all the moments we wanted and more. He even drove us in his car to another location for some special photos. Nothing was too much hassle for him,
And the photos…wow! We were blown away with how they turned out! Can’t wait to have them printed and on show in our home.

John was the photographer at our wedding in Loch Lomond and i can’t recommend him enough. He is completely professional, friendly and discreet in the way that he photographs. I can’t stop looking at the all of the photos he took of our special day, they are just the most beautiful shots. I don’t know how he captured so many beautiful moments without us even realising, it’s a true skill. He also sent our photos in a timely manner and it was so nice having the preview shots and slideshow just a few days after the wedding.
