As a Newhall Estate Wedding Photographer, Kristen and Gregor’s wedding was an absolute belter of a day to photograph. With Gregor being Scottish and Kristen Canadian, friends and family had travelled from both sides of the Atlantic to celebrate with them, and we couldn’t have asked for better weather for it.
They both got ready at Newhall Estate, with Kristen spending the morning with her girls before heading to the Sunroom for their Humanist ceremony. Afterwards, everyone headed outside for confetti before making the most of the sunshine and the beautiful grounds around the estate.
Later, we nipped into Newhall Estate’s Walled Garden for a few relaxed photos of Kristen and Gregor before getting them back to their guests and the celebrations. The evening then turned into a brilliant mix of live music, DJ and ceilidh dancing — exactly the kind of wedding that’s an absolute joy to photograph.

A Sunroom Wedding Ceremony at Newhall Estate

Confetti at Newhall Estate
Straight after the ceremony, everyone headed outside into the sunshine for one of my favourite parts of the day — confetti! Kristen and Gregor walked straight through the middle of everyone while their guests absolutely covered them in it, which made for some brilliant photos and was the perfect way to kick off the celebrations.

Wedding Photos in Newhall Estate’s Walled Garden
With the sun still shining, I took Kristen and Gregor for a wander around Newhall Estate’s Walled Garden for their couple photos. It’s a brilliant spot for wedding photography, with loads of greenery, winding paths and different little areas to work with, all within a short walk of the main celebrations.
I always like to keep this part of the day relaxed and fairly quick. There’s no need to disappear for ages or turn the wedding into a photoshoot. We had a wander, made the most of the Walled Garden and the gorgeous weather, got some cracking photos and then Kristen and Gregor could get straight back to enjoying the day with everyone.

From Speeches to the Dance Floor
Once everyone had settled in for the reception, the speeches kicked off with plenty of laughs and reactions around the room. Kristen and Gregor also did a table dash, racing around to get a photo with each table during the speeches, which made for some brilliant moments and meant they ended up with loads of relaxed group photos with their guests.
With the weather still playing ball, everyone spent plenty of time outside on the lawn chatting and enjoying the evening before things moved towards the party. As the sun started to dip, I grabbed Kristen and Gregor for another few quick couple photos while the light was looking its best.
Then it was back inside for the evening celebrations, with The Jig Show getting everyone involved in the ceilidh before Fresh Entertainment carried things on with the DJ. It was a brilliant mix and a cracking way to finish the day.

Planning Your Own Newhall Estate Wedding?
If you’re planning your own wedding at Newhall Estate and you’re looking for a Newhall Estate Wedding Photographer with a relaxed, natural approach, I’d love to hear what you’ve got planned.
My approach is all about letting you enjoy the day with your family and friends rather than disappearing for hours for photographs. We’ll still make the most of places like the Walled Garden for some cracking couple photos, but we’ll keep things relaxed, have a wander and get you back to your guests as quickly as possible.
If that sounds like how you’d like your wedding photographed, you can have a look through more of my wedding photography or get in touch to tell me about your plans.
