Citation Glasgow wedding photographer

Colette and Dean got married at Citation in Glasgow — a stylish city wedding with everything taking place at the venue.

Citation’s stone frontage and columned entrance set the scene straight away, and inside the rooms were dressed with tall white florals, candles and a clean, modern feel that carried right through the day.

Before the ceremony at Citation Glasgow

Ahead of the ceremony, Citation was already set with rows of chairs, paper fans on seats, and a soft, candlelit look against the venue’s exposed stone walls.

Dean and his groomsmen wore black tie for the day, gathering outside the entrance for a few relaxed portraits and a bit of time together before heading inside.

Morning prep at AC Marriott Glasgow

Colette got ready at AC Marriott Glasgow with her bridesmaids, with the final part of prep centred around getting the dress fastened and those last wee checks before heading out.

There was also time for a quick toast together, with the room set up simply and gold “BRIDE” balloons in the background.

Arriving at Citation Glasgow

Colette travelled from AC Marriott Glasgow to Citation for the ceremony.

Humanist wedding ceremony at Citation Glasgow

Colette and Dean’s Humanist ceremony took place at Citation Glasgow, led by Alan Edwards (Fuze Ceremonies).

With guests seated close by, there were loads of great moments across the room — smiles, hugs, and a few tearful faces during the ceremony. Colette and Dean exchanged rings and shared a kiss at the end, before walking back up the aisle together.

Confetti on the steps at Citation

After the ceremony, everyone gathered outside the main entrance for confetti on the steps.

The ‘Citation’ sign above the doorway makes a strong backdrop here, and the confetti moment had plenty of movement, with the wedding party and guests packed in around them.

Group photos outside the venue

With everyone already outside, we kept the group photos to the front of the building, using the stone façade and steps for a clean lineup.

Wedding portraits around Citation

Colette and Dean stayed close to the venue for portraits, making use of the stone archway and the surrounding city streets. We also popped round to John Street for the archways.

One of my favourite parts of photographing weddings in central Glasgow is how quickly you can step out for a change of scene without disappearing for ages — it keeps things relaxed and lets the day roll on naturally.

Reception details, cake and illustration

Back inside, the reception room was set with a draped top table, tall white floral urns and candlelight, with personalised ribbon place names laid out on the tables.

Colette and Dean’s cake was a two-tier white design with a topper, set up ready for later on.

Evie Stella also provided illustrations during the reception, with guests picking up their prints at the bar area.

First dance and evening dancing

Colette and Dean’s first dance kicked off the evening, and the dancefloor filled up fast with guests properly getting into it.

From there it was all hands-in-the-air moments, drinks in hand, and a busy floor right through the rest of the night.
