Montrose Street Wedding Photos

Montrose Street wedding photos never disappoint—especially when you’ve got a couple like Anna and Matt and the perfect Glasgow sunshine to go with it. Anna and Matt chose the beautiful Glasgow City Chambers at 23 Montrose Street for their intimate wedding, and I was lucky enough to be there to document it all. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, it was the perfect location to say “I do” right in the heart of Glasgow city centre.

John was absolutely incredible – he listened to exactly what we wanted with regards to how photos would fit into our day. We wanted it to feel seamless and also very quick, so we didn’t miss out on special moments, and that is exactly what he did! Also, the photos are the most beautiful wedding photos we have ever seen (we are biased but everyone in my life agrees) ☺️ could not recommend him enough, thank you John.

Montrose Street Wedding Photos in the Heart of Glasgow

The ceremony took place in the Kelvin Suite, one of the two stunning ceremony rooms inside this historic Victorian building. Flooded with soft, natural light, it’s a dream to photograph in—bright, elegant, and full of character.

We truly cannot thank you enough for photographing our wedding and being absolutely perfect. As all the reviews say about you on Google, you were so relaxed and joyful and it just felt like you were another one of our loved ones there to celebrate with us, which is the best thing ever.

Why Montrose Street’s Interiors Are Perfect for Wedding Portraits

The staircase inside 23 Montrose Street is one of those hidden gems—full of character, soft natural light, and the perfect spot for a few quick portraits before the next wedding begins. With a few more ceremonies about to start, time is limited, but you really only need five minutes to capture something beautiful. This is where experience photographing fast-paced city weddings really makes a difference—knowing how to work quickly, direct gently, and make the most of the light and space.

We grabbed a few quiet moments on the stairs with just the two of them, soaking in the just-married feeling before heading out into the sunshine. Then came the grand exit—confetti, hugs, and cheers from their friends and family waiting outside. A perfect burst of celebration right in the heart of Glasgow.

Confetti, Laughter & Sunshine on Montrose Street

After the ceremony and a few quick photos of Anna and Matt on the staircase, we stepped outside for a confetti throw on one of those rare, scorching summer days in Glasgow.

Also, the PHOTOS, oh my god they are perfect.
I would confidently say I have looked at them everyday since the wedding, I am obsessed. Everyone in my life has been so complimentary and SO many people have said they are the best wedding photos they have seen.

If you ever need a character witness I am your woman. 🙂

Natural, Relaxed Family Portraits at the Glasgow Registry Office

With only a handful of guests and Anna and Matt keeping things relaxed, we moved quickly through the group photos—just a few was all they wanted. You can really see the fun and laughter in these moments; everyone was in great spirits and up for it, which always makes my job that bit easier. The best group shots aren’t the stiff, formal ones—they’re the ones where people are genuinely enjoying themselves, and that’s exactly what we had here. They were all ace.

After the group photos, we went for a little wander around John Street and under the stunning arches beside the Glasgow City Chambers—an absolute gem of a spot for wedding portraits in the city centre. The mix of historic stonework, elegant architecture, and soft natural light makes it perfect for relaxed, candid photos that still feel iconic.

Anna and Matt were all about keeping things fun and easy-going. No stiff posing—just the two of them enjoying the moment, laughing together, and making the most of that post-ceremony buzz. Exactly how a city centre wedding should feel. 🙂
