Trades Hall Wedding In Glasgow

Siobhan and Ross had a truly beautiful Trades Hall wedding in Glasgow just a few weeks ago, and what a day it was. I kicked things off that morning at Siobhan’s family home, capturing the lovely buzz of excitement during bridal prep with the girls. There were some really special moments — including a touching first look with both her mum and dad, followed by another emotional reveal with her bridesmaids. These little moments at the start of the day always feel so personal and full of love — and they make for some of my favourite images to capture.

John was amazing at photographing our wedding. He made us feel at ease throughout the entire process and captured all the little details on the day. We got our full album back in a couple of weeks and they were even better than I could ever have hoped for. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him!

Getting married at Trades Hall

From there, it was off to the Trades Hall, one of Glasgow’s oldest and most elegant wedding venues. If you’ve never been inside, it’s a bit of a hidden gem. The building dates back to the 18th century and is full of history and character — think grand staircases, huge sash windows, and stunning chandeliers hanging from the ornate ceilings. The rooms have this timeless, classic feel with rich wood paneling and warm lighting that adds a real sense of occasion. It’s an incredible backdrop for wedding photography in Glasgow, and I always enjoy shooting here.

Before Siobhan arrived, I met up with Ross and the guys for some relaxed portraits outside the venue. It was a lovely, calm moment before the big arrival. Their ceremony was led by the always-excellent Tim Maguire, a humanist celebrant I’ve had the pleasure of working with many times. Siobhan and Ross each wrote their own vows, and they both shared beautiful, heartfelt words with one another.

After the ceremony, the celebrations moved into one of the larger rooms at Trades Hall. Instead of the usual confetti toss, they walked in to a flurry of bubbles — which made for a fun and unique entrance! The space worked perfectly for a few relaxed group photos and some couple portraits before we stepped out onto the Trades Hall balcony for a few more shots.

We then headed back downstairs so Siobhan and Ross could spend some quality time catching up with their family and friends. While I love creating beautiful portraits, it’s just as important to me that my couples get the chance to really enjoy their day — to relax, have a chat, share a laugh, and soak up all those moments with the people they love. I always make sure there’s plenty of time for that. After all, your wedding day isn’t just about the photos — it’s about the experience, and I want you to remember how it felt, not just how it looked.

The Citizen Glasgow Wedding

The evening reception took place at The Citizen on St Vincent Place, inside the beautifully styled Macallan Editors Suite. It’s another brilliant Glasgow venue — stylish, atmospheric, and just the right size for an intimate celebration. The room had been decorated perfectly for the occasion. While they didn’t go for a traditional first dance, there were some fantastic speeches, full of warmth and laughs, and I made sure to capture it all before saying my goodbyes and letting them enjoy the rest of their night.
