The Cruin Wedding at Loch Lomond

Nicole and Martin had their wedding day at The Cruin, set on the stunning banks of Loch Lomond. Both bride and groom had their morning preparations on the grounds of The Cruin, allowing me to start the day off with Martin and his groomsmen, capturing some of the details of their preparations before heading over to meet up with the girls. You’ll see from the photos below that Nicole chose an incredible color palette for the big day, perfectly matching her vibrant hair colour. The flowers, beautifully arranged by the Floral Design Studios and Little Botanica, added an extra touch of elegance.

The Cruin Wedding at Loch Lomond

Nicole and Martin had a breathtaking outdoor wedding ceremony at the Cruin, overlooking the serene Loch Lomond. Nicole’s mum walked her down the aisle, adding a heartfelt touch. The ceremony, conducted by the wonderful Niki Smith, included a traditional hand fasting and the exchange of wedding rings. As they made their way back up the aisle, they were showered with confetti. I love a good confetti toss.

In true Scottish fashion, the rain made an appearance, prompting everyone to head inside. However, the unexpected change of plans brought a delightful surprise: alpacas! These charming creatures greeted the guests, adding a unique and memorable touch to the day.

After some drinks and canapés, the rain finally cleared, allowing us to head outside for a large group shot followed by some intimate couple portraits. Before dinner and speeches, I took the chance to go inside and capture detailed shots of the incredible indoor space that The Cruin offers. The colors here truly complemented the space, adding to the elegant and inviting atmosphere of the celebration.

The beauty of The Cruin is highlighted by the jetty near the loch. With Ben Lomond in the distance, I took Nicole and Martin out for a few more images. My favorite time of day for the couple shoot is always after dinner and speeches. The light is generally softer, and sometimes we’re blessed with a beautiful sunset. No sunset this time but as you can see, the backdrop is pretty spectacular so who needs a sunset eh. And let’s not forget that dress and veil—simply stunning!

As the evening reception began, it was time for the cake cutting and the first dance, followed by some banging tunes from Ernest. They always know how to put on a show, and they didn’t disappoint. There were some incredible dance moves on display, and of course, I was right in the middle of it all, capturing every moment. The energy and joy of the evening made for some unforgettable memories and fantastic photos.
