Hannah and Alex flew all the way from Canada to celebrate their wedding at the beautiful Springkell House in Lockerbie, Scotland. Surrounded by their closest friends and family, they couldn’t have picked a more perfect setting for their destination wedding.

I arrived around an hour before their stunning outdoor ceremony to capture some relaxed morning prep moments, along with a really special first look between Hannah and her dad.
Springkell Outdoor Ceremony
It’s absolutely perfect — set just in front of the house with views across the stunning grounds. It creates the most romantic backdrop for a wedding, and Hannah and Alex’s ceremony fitted the setting beautifully.
We travelled all the way from Canada for our wedding and John was extremely communicative from our first interaction by email and video call all the way to the wedding itself and afterwards

The grounds at Springkell
The grounds at Springkell House are incredible for bride and groom portraits, so after the ceremony we took a relaxed walk around the estate and made the most of the beautiful backdrops. It’s one of my favourite parts of photographing weddings at Springkell — everywhere you turn there’s another stunning spot for photos, and Hannah and Alex were an absolute joy to capture.
Wedding Speeches at Springkell
Later in the evening, Hannah’s brother set up a projector with a pre-recorded video for everyone to watch. It was the perfect mix of touching and hilarious, and it gave me so many great opportunities to capture those natural reactions from their guests.
Night portraits and evening reception
Once the speeches had wrapped up and dinner was finished, we slipped outside for a few night-time portraits. Springkell looks incredible after dark, and it was the perfect chance to create some atmospheric shots that really showcase this beautiful wedding venue.
Afterwards, we headed back inside for the evening entertainment — the perfect end to an incredible day for Hannah and Alex.
John, you were an absolute gem to work with and you made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera (not an easy feat). We are so lucky to have such amazing photos to remember how wonderful the wedding was.
