Rustic Scottish Barn wedding at Kinkell Byre //
Kinkell Byre, one of my top 10 Scottish wedding venues. I was chuffed to bits when Aimee + Kyle booked me to shoot their wedding up there. I know Aimee and Kyle from the terrific Guy’s Restaurant in the Merchant city of Glasgow. Guy being Aimee’s dad and Kyle being the manager in the restaurant. My wife worked in there for a number of years too. If you haven’t tried it, go check it out, it’s fantastic. Ok, so now that I’ve plugged Guy’s restaurant I can now move on to this amazing wedding day and pick up my free meal next time i’m in. 😉
They both wanted their wedding to be unique which is pretty difficult to achieve these days, but they managed to absolutely smash it. That’s the beauty of getting married at Kinkell Byre, you really can create something unique and different. This was achieved by not only Kyle and Aimee, but the awesome suppliers they hired for their wedding, detailed below. Being a lover of good food ( aren’t we all ), they hired one of my favourite wedding caterers, Wild Rover Food. They serve up your food in a way that’s certainly different to what you may be used to, which is great in this industry, anything that’s a little more alternative is a win in my book. During the meal they had their friend, the brilliant actor Iain Roberson ( who you may recognise from tv shows like River City, Rab C Nesbitt and Taggart and the classic 90’s Glasgow film, Small Faces ) do a brilliant rendition of Tam o’Shanter by Robert Burns. Incredible scenes.
Topped off by Kyle’s rendition of the scene from Reservoir Dogs, “stuck in the middle with you” for their first dance.
As you do. well played Kyle. 🙂
Incredible work by every single supplier. Wedding Venue – Kinkell Byre // Video – Bowery Productions // Catering – Wild Rover Food // Make up – Laura Gray & Sophie Alexis // Wedding cakes – Rosewood Cakes // Flowers – The Diamond Bouquet // Coffee and Lemonade stand – Something Brewed.
