Drumtochty Castle Wedding Photography
Lucy and Jamie picked the beautiful Drumtochty Castle for their wedding day, situated north-west of Auchenblae, Kincardineshire, and it was just perfect. I arrived in the morning to capture some preparation shots. Since they were both staying at Drumtochty, I had the opportunity to photograph both of them getting ready for their big day. This was great from a storytelling standpoint, as it set the scene for the rest of the day.
Wedding ceremony at St Palladius Church
Just a short walk from Drumtochty Castle is the striking church of St. Palladius. Steeped in history, it is the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony with its stunning stained glass windows and oak pews. Lucy and her Dad made their way down as Jamie waited for them at the bottom of the aisle. Afterwards we had a confetti throw before making the walk back up to Drumtochty Castle for some family photos, canapés and drinks.

We then made great use of this incredible place and went for some couples portraits. You are genuinely spoilt for choice when it comes to photographs at Drumtochty Castle. After the photo session, Lucy and Jamie had plenty of time to relax, have fun, and chat with their friends and family before being called in for dinner and speeches.
Drumtochty Castle Ballroom
The Ballroom at Drumtochty Castle is another beautiful space where Jamie and Lucy had their wedding speeches and dinner. With its stunning ceiling and striking fireplace, it’s the perfect setting for all their friends and family to celebrate together. I was sure to photograph all of the beautiful details before all of the guests arrived.

After all the speeches were done and everyone enjoyed a beautiful meal, we then jumped into my car for a few more couples portraits. The sun was setting and looked spectacular, so we had to make use of this. We were only away for 20 minutes, and both Jamie and Lucy got back in time to mingle and chat with their guests before the evening reception.

It was now time for their first dance and some epic partying. Thanks to Bahookie, the dance floor was packed all night, giving me the chance to capture some epic dancing shots for them.

Evening Reception: With Bahookie keeping the dance floor packed, the evening reception was a blast to photograph. The lively atmosphere and joyous celebrations made for some incredible dancing shots, capturing the energy and excitement of the night.
