Abigail & Dan’s wedding at Loch Lomond Arms Hotel

Abigail and Dan got married at the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel in Luss, right in the middle of one of my favourite wee corners of Scotland to wander around with a camera. If you’re planning Loch Lomond Arms Hotel wedding photography and you’re picturing that mix of cosy hotel spaces with Luss just outside the door, this day is a good example of how it can all come together without needing to overcomplicate things.

Morning prep at Miller’s Cottage and Forrester’s Cottage

Prep was split between Miller’s Cottage (near the hotel) and Forrester’s Cottage next door, which kept everything nice and close together without being on top of each other. I could dip between the two and keep things moving along calmly, catching the final bits coming together.

Abigail was there with all her girls, and her mum, and Dan had all the guys, along with his mum and dad so there was plenty going on, but it still felt organised. These parts of the morning are usually a mix of wee details, people arriving and saying hello, and those last quiet minutes before you head over to the ceremony.

Humanist belief marriage ceremony at Loch Lomond Arms Hotel

The ceremony took place at the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel, with Alex Moore as celebrant for their Humanist belief marriage. I won’t try to describe it with big dramatic words—what matters is the real parts: the music choice, the people up front with you, and the reactions you only properly notice later when you look back through the photos.

And walking down the aisle to “Dreams” is an absolute belter of a choice.

Confetti and a few group photos outside

After the ceremony, we had the confetti shot as Abigail and Dan walked back down the aisle.

Drinks, music, and a wander in Luss for portraits

They had a saxophonist playing after the ceremony (Man With The Red Suit), which was a brilliant way to bring a bit of energy in without stopping the flow of the day. It meant guests had something to gather round while everything else carried on in the background.

We then did some group photos with family members as well as some fun bridal party photos.

Abigail and Dan were keen on getting some portraits by the water and around Luss. Luss is ideal for this kind of thing—if you’ve got even a short pocket of time, you can nip out and get a good mix without trekking miles.

The wedding speeches at Loch Lomond Arms Hotel

I always like to get some room set up shots before all the guests arrive in. The room was set up beautifully so it’s always nice to have these shots for the couple to look back on. As guests arrive in to their seats it’s always a great chance for some candids too.

Evening reception at Loch Lomond Arms Hotel (and later photos when it got darker)

We then had the cake cutting and first dance followed by some party shots.

Later on, Abigail and Dan had asked for some photos when it was darker, and I’m always up for that if there’s time. You don’t need loads—just a few minutes is plenty—and it gives you something a bit different from the daytime portraits.
