Makayla and Alexander had their beautiful Scottish wedding at Barcaldine Castle, with their wedding ceremony taking place at the breathtaking St Conan’s Kirk in Loch Awe. The morning began with relaxed bride and groom preparations surrounded by the stunning grounds of the castle, before everyone made the scenic journey to St Conan’s Kirk for their wedding ceremony. With only their closest friends and family in attendance, it was an incredibly intimate wedding day filled with laughter, emotion, and more than a few happy tears — the kind of celebration that feels truly personal and meaningful for them both.
Dear John,
Makayla + Alexander
There are genuinely no words to describe how amazed we are by the photos. You captured the essence of the day exactly and it’s so fun to get to see all the little moments we missed. The photos are beautiful. Thank you so much for making the day comfortable and magical for us.

Wedding Ceremony at St Conan’s Kirk
St Conan’s Kirk sits on the shores of Loch Awe. This place is honestly one of the most unique and stunning churches in Scotland — the moment you step inside, it just feels special. The stonework, the arches, the warm light coming through the windows… it’s such a beautiful setting for an intimate ceremony and made their vows feel even more meaningful. With only their closest friends and family there, it was just perfect.

Exploring the Beautiful Grounds of St Conan’s Kirk
After the ceremony, and once we’d captured some family photos, we made great use of the beautiful grounds around St Conan’s Kirk. With the stunning views overlooking Loch Awe, it was the perfect spot for some portraits. We also took a few indoor photos inside the kirk as well — the light and atmosphere in there are just incredible.

Celebrating Together at Barcaldine Castle
After that, it was back to Barcaldine Castle for some relaxed mingling and chill time with their guests. Everyone enjoyed a chance to chat, soak in the atmosphere, and celebrate together before the speeches got underway.

Couple Portraits in the Beautiful Grounds of Barcaldine Castle
As the light was just right, after their evening dinner we managed to sneak outside for a few more photos around the stunning grounds of Barcaldine Castle. The driveway and surrounding scenery are full of perfect little spots for portraits

An Outdoor First Dance at Barcaldine Castle
We decided it would be best to have their first dance outside… because honestly, why not? It was the perfect way to round off such a beautiful day. It was a real honour being part of Makayla and Alexander’s wedding, and I absolutely loved the intimate, small gathering vibe they chose. Everything about the day felt so personal, relaxed, and completely them — it all came together perfectly.
