Hey, I’m John! I’m not the best at talking about myself, but here goes…
I actually started out in IT (yep, quite the switch!), but photography was always my real passion. What began as a hobby quickly turned into something more when I had the chance to second shoot and assist some of Glasgow’s best wedding photographers back in 2006. From there, I built my own photography business and haven’t looked back since—turns out, even the IT skills have come in handy along the way!
Most of my weddings take place in Scotland, but I’ve also had the privilege of capturing incredible weddings in places like Amalfi Coast, Paris, California’s Yosemite Park, and Alicante. That said, there’s just something special about a Scottish wedding—the landscapes, the atmosphere, the way the weather keeps you on your toes!
My approach? Keep things natural. I love letting the day flow as it happens, capturing all the real, unscripted moments. No stiff posing—just relaxed, genuine memories that actually feel like you.
My Philosophy
My little family is the heart of my world. It includes my loving wife, Jacqui, and our beautiful daughter, Jessica.
The video below captures something pretty special… and pretty hilarious—my proposal to Jacqui back in 2014. She had zero clue I was about to pop the question, and even less of a clue that I was sneakily filming the whole thing. Her reaction? Absolute gold. Pure surprise, a bit of confusion, and then sheer joy—all rolled into one unforgettable (and slightly chaotic) moment!
